Continuing our series on religion and cults, we checked out “Holy Hell” on Netflix.
For “Michel” (born Jaime Gomez), it was the role of a lifetime. Michel was a ballet dancer and philosopher with a one-time role in a big Hollywood movie. His greatest offering was a ceremony called “The Knowing” where a few chosen followers were allowed to know God directly. After the David Koresh disaster in Waco, Texas, Michel became afraid for his people and changed his name to “Andreas” and along with this came a new beginning… the beginning of the end for most of his followers. Thanks to Will Allen, we get to see incredible high-quality footage documenting the daily life of Buddhafield followers and their eccentric leader.
