The Res Dogs have big plans. The recent death of their gang leader proves there’s nothing left for them on the reservation, so the teenage underachievers are getting out of Oklahoma.
California sounds nice. But it’s expensive. Escaping to the West Coast will require lots of money, and the Reservation Dogs will do whatever it takes to score the cash.
Reservation Dogs is all about characters. The core group of Bear, Elora, Willie Jack, and Cheese deal with all the troubles that come with petty criminal gang life. While their story anchors the drama and comedy at the center of the show, an astonishing number of fascinating support characters orbit around them.
Officer Big does his best to guide the Res Dogs down a more productive path, when he’s not locking the key inside hit patrol car. The unknown warrior, Spirit, appears at awkward moments to dispense cryptic advice. Lil Mike and Funny Bone pull up on their Schwinn Sting-Rays to drop some rhymes and fan the flames erupting between the Res Dogs and a rival gang.
Show creators Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi effectively blend together tragedy, humor, and folklore in Reservation Dogs.
