Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja have made it to season three of What We Do in the Shadows without getting staked, decapitated, or incinerated. But it wasn’t for lack of trying. These ancient vampires have managed to antagonize their Staten Island neighbors, a roaming gang of werewolves, and the entire local Vampire Council. This level of undead incompetence hasn’t been seen since Buffy the Vampire Slayer left the building.
Not much has changed with these three roommates. Nandor still goes looking for love in all the wrong places, Laszlo still suffers from sex addiction, and Nadja still has to tolerate both of them. If it wasn’t for Nandor’s familiar, Guillermo, none of them would ever see another moonrise.
The spiritual successor to mockumentary classics like This is Spinal Tap and Waiting for Guffman, What We Do in the Shadows has an addictive improve energy flowing through its veins. FX on Hulu delivers a season of television equal to the very best of the year.
